Job Summary
Provide safe and efficient traffic management at road construction worksites.
Main Responsibilities
Promote safe work practices and an excellent safety culture
Participates in pre-shift safety huddles
Set-up and take down temporary work zones safely and efficiently
Optimize traffic control in and around work zones (Flagging) crafting a safe environment for traffic and onsite workers
Responsible for reporting incidents and accidents to supervisor or management
Maintain an open line of communication with team members to promote team productivity and safety
Responsible to report to superintendent / Foreman of any potential safety hazards
Erect and remove delineating devices such as barrels and cones
Assist in backing and dumping of triaxles and milling machines
Education
High school diploma or GED
Skills
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with peers
Ability to perform tasks as given from supervisors as well as work as part of a team
Safety conscious
Aware of flagging guidelines and procedures
Must take flagger training and obtain flagger certification
Physical Requirements
Required to work in various weather conditions
This position works near live traffic on jobsites and requires employees to be safety conscious at all times
Requires standing and or walking for long periods of time
Requires use of arms, legs, hands, fingers
