Youth Sports Official

Job Overview

Are you passionate about youth sports and making a positive impact in your community? We’re seeking high-energy and motivated Officials to referee youth sports games (age 3-14) for soccer, flag football, basketball, and volleyball.

The Official is a critical, hands-on role on any sports field; responsible for enforcing rules while also cultivating a positive culture, acting as an on-field coach, and advocating for the sports programs. This role has a direct impact on players, coaches, and spectators each and every game day.

This position is based in the Hayward / San Leandro Area, California.

Duties

• Understand & enforce the i9 Sports rule books while ensuring a fun, educational, and safe environment for all players
• Teach & demonstrate core concepts, including Sportsmanship values
• Keep time and score during the game
• Manage an age-appropriate level of instruction and competition
• Consistently demonstrate a positive attitude and superior customer service skills
  
  
  

Position Type: Part-Time W-2 Employee (usually on Saturdays)

Requirements

• Enjoy working with kids
• Knowledge of the sport's basic rules and game flow
• Clean Background Check
• Reliable transportation to and from games and training
• Be confident and capable of dealing with parents and upholding the i9 Sports philosophy
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work on the weekends (this role is primarily focused on Saturday games)
• Previous experience is a plus, but not required.
