Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of ammonia refrigeration experience in an industrial refrigeration and food manufacturing environment.
• Must have Ammonia Certification from GCAP or RETA.
• Must have EPA Type II Certification.
• Must be able to pass a respirator fit test and pulmonary function test.
• Must be able to complete a 24-hour Hazmat class.
• Strong knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems, utilities, and related equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate, test, troubleshoot, and repair ammonia refrigeration systems, subsystems, and auxiliary equipment.
• Perform planned maintenance on ammonia refrigeration and utility systems.
• Operate and maintain spiral freezers.
• Perform ammonia system pump-downs for repairs/replacement of refrigeration components.
• Conduct daily rounds and inspections of ammonia system temperatures and conditions.
• Perform chemical testing on boilers and condenser towers.
• Troubleshoot and maintain boiler, hot water, domestic cold water, compressed air, electrical, and electronic systems.
• Maintain refrigeration and utility rooms according to established safety and maintenance standards.
• Complete work orders, PSM-related documentation, refrigeration records, and operating notes.
• Follow all Safety, LOTO, GMP, SOP, and PSM requirements.
• Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Maintenance/Refrigeration Manager
