The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive, patient-centered care to both pediatric and adult patients. The Dentist will examine, diagnose, and treat diseases and injuries of the teeth and gums, combining clinical expertise with a gentle chairside manner to help patients achieve optimal oral health and become an integral part of the Pueblo community.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Perform routine checkups and comprehensive oral examinations; deliver preventive dental care and counsel patients on oral hygiene.
- Diagnostics: Order, perform, and interpret digital radiographs and other diagnostic tests to develop individualized treatment plans.
- General and Restorative Treatment: Provide restorations (fillings, crowns, bridges), endodontic therapy, extractions, and periodontal care as required.
- Patient Education: Instruct patients and caregivers on proper brushing, flossing, and preventive strategies to maintain long-term oral health.
- Referrals: Identify cases requiring specialty care and refer patients to orthodontists, oral surgeons, or other specialists as appropriate.
- Compliance and Records: Maintain accurate, confidential patient records and adhere to charting protocols, clinical standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Education: Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) from an accredited dental school.
- Licensing: Active, unrestricted license to practice dentistry issued by the Colorado Dental Board and in good standing.
- DEA Registration: Valid and active Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration in good standing.
- Credentialing: Current Colorado Health First Colorado (Medicaid) provider number and credentialing with major dental insurance networks preferred.
- Clinical Competence: Demonstrated ability to perform dental procedures under pressure while maintaining a calm and professional chairside manner.
- Technical Proficiency: Computer literacy and familiarity with modern electronic health record systems and digital dentistry technologies.
Salary : $200,000 - $275,000
