Job Title: Raw Material Analytical Chemist I

Pay Rate: $22–25/hour
Job Description:
We are seeking a Raw Material Analytical Chemist I to join our client’s team in Clark, NJ. This position will be responsible for performing analytical testing of raw materials using a variety of chromatographic, spectroscopic, and wet chemistry techniques. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience with HPLC and GC methods, demonstrate excellent laboratory organization, and effectively communicate analytical findings across scientific and non-scientific teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform analysis of samples and raw materials using chromatographic, spectroscopic, wet chemistry, physical testing, and other analytical techniques (e.g., specific gravity, viscosity, potentiometric titrations, Karl Fisher, TLC, pH, LC, GC, FTIR).
- Apply established test methods and procedures to complete analytical testing with accuracy and efficiency.
- Collect, process, and interpret analytical data, deriving scientifically sound conclusions and preparing detailed reports.
- Conduct root cause analysis for non-conformance events related to laboratory testing.
- Communicate testing progress and findings effectively with management and project teams.
- Maintain compliance with all laboratory procedures, quality standards, and safety guidelines.
- Adapt to changes, prioritize tasks, and ensure timely delivery of test results and project milestones.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the laboratory environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related field.
- 1–3 years of professional (post-graduate) laboratory experience.
- Proficiency in wet chemistry techniques (pH, TLC, auto-titrators, FTIR, Karl Fisher, viscosity).
- HPLC and GC experience required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent bench skills, organization, and safety awareness.
- Experience with Empower, ELN, and LIMS preferred.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
