Job Title: Electronics Technician

Job Summary:

The primary responsibility of the Electronics Technician is to troubleshoot PCBAs (Printed Circuit Board Assemblies) down to the component level and provide hands-on support to resolve issues on the production line. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that electronic systems and components meet our high standards. The position also includes the potential for occasional site visits to support troubleshooting and repairs in the field.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot PCBAs to the component level using various test equipment, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, and specialized diagnostic tools.

  • Assist in resolving production line issues related to electronic systems and components.

  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify and fix root causes of electronic malfunctions.

  • Perform tests and inspections of PCBAs to ensure quality standards are met.

  • Document troubleshooting procedures, test results, and corrective actions.

  • Maintain and repair test fixtures, as well as other production tools and equipment.

  • Potentially visit customer sites to troubleshoot and repair systems in the field.

  • Provide feedback to design and process engineers to improve product performance and manufacturability.

  • Ensure compliance with company safety protocols and standards during all work activities


 Required Skills/Abilities: 



  • Proven experience troubleshooting PCBAs to the component level.

  • Familiarity with SMT (Surface Mount Technology) processes and equipment.

  • Ability to use diagnostic tools like oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

  • Willingness to occasionally travel to customer sites for field support.

  • Experience in the lighting, automotive, or industrial electronics sectors.

  • Knowledge of IPC-A-610 standards.

  • Familiarity with conformal coating, wave soldering, and selective soldering processes.

  • Familiarity with troubleshooting ICs with Firmware (e.g. Microprocessors, Communication Protocols)


 Education and Experience:



  • Associate’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
