Job Summary:To provide safe, reliable and cost-efficient vehicles by performing quality preventive maintenance inspections and repairs as well as performing expert diagnosis and repair as required to prevent breakdowns on road, reduce vehicle downtime and improve total fleet reliability. Accountabilities: Must be able to interpret work instructions, formulate plans, and express ideas and concerns effectively to co-workers, maintenance personnel and supervisorsLog all actions taken in a clear and concise methodInstalling, maintaining, testing, evaluating, and repairing various mechanical components and systemsOperating standard maintenance tools such as power tools, electric tools, precision maintenance tools, preventative maintenance technology tools, etc.Utilize maintenance trades and components such as welding, pipefitting, fabrication, gearbox and bearing maintenance, lubrication, pumps and piping systems, mechanical maintenance, hydraulic and pneumatic systemsInterpreting and understanding mechanical schematics, blueprints, and/or operation manualsDocumenting completed work and the conditions found, utilizing maintenance computer software as necessaryUnderstanding and adhering to all safety rules and regulationsMaintaining a safe and clean work environmentOther duties as assignedPerform quality preventive maintenance inspections per company methods on all fleet vehicles including tractors, trailers, refrigeration units (Reefer), lift-gates, light-duty vehicles, and any other company-owned equipment.Perform quality maintenance repairs as required to maximize safety and reliability on all fleet vehicles including tractors, trailers, converter dollies, lift-gates, light-duty vehicles, and any company-owned equipment.Provide Annual Inspections Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GEDEligible to work in the United StatesMust have a current and valid drivers license (CDL preferred, not required)Must be able to pass routine drug testAbility to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)Must have basic computer skills to access: Timesheets, daily protocols, diagnostic systems, etc.Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 55lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting, with or without a reasonable accommodationAbility to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)Ability to work in confined spacesKnowledge of controls and electric (DC (distribution center) low voltageElectric motor knowledge (DC)Complete electrical repairs and welding projects as neededModerate knowledge and skill in welding and cutting (gas, electric, MIG, TIG)Expert knowledge of all DOT (FMCSA) regulationsModerate knowledge of OSHA safety regulationsModerate knowledge of environmental regulationsThe technician must provide own and provide all tools (diagnostic equipment and major tools provided by I&T Diesel Repair) necessary to perform all maintenance repair and diagnosticsThe employee in Repair work requires excellent hand and finger dexterity used for wrenches, hand tools, and other shop equipment.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.Ability to operate various pieces of equipment Preferred Qualifications:3 or more years of experience of fleet maintenance and repairCDLMedium / Heavy Duty truck technical training Certifications, Licenses and RegistrationsAnnual Inspector Certification Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesBrake Inspector Certification Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesASE certifications & Automotive or Medium/Heavy Duty Trucks
