Our client is growing and is looking for a dedicated Construction Materials Inspector to help with a large reservoir project on the south end of lake Okeechobee to test numerous construction materials including concrete, soil, aggregate, etc.
Position Overview:
As a Construction Materials Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting construction work to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, codes, and regulations. You will work closely with contractors, engineers, and project managers to maintain high standards of workmanship and safety throughout the construction process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Run concrete and soil tests to ensure strength and stability (Slump tests, aggregate test, etc.)
- Inspect construction projects at various stages for quality, safety, and compliance with regulations
- Document findings, maintain detailed inspection reports, and update project files
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and industry best practices
- Collaborate with engineers, clients, and fellow team members
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- A year of experience in construction (concrete is preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- ACI (American Concrete Institute) certifications aggregate or concret.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification as a Construction Inspector (ACI, ICC, or similar)
- Experience working with dams, reservoirs, or waterways.
