The Purchasing Assistant places product orders and distributes incoming supplies and specialty products to ensure materials are available for patient care teams in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner.

This is a part-time (0.8) position working Tuesday - Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM out of Two Twelve Surgery Center in Chaska.

Twin Cities Orthopedics is an operating division of Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health), a group of local medical practices, owned and led by its physicians, on a mission to give patients more control over their healthcare.

Essential Functions:
  • Continuously monitor and replenish product stock according to established par levels in support of daily operations and patient care workflows

    •  Receive and unpack medical supply and pharmaceutical shipments from distributors, verifying that orders are complete and accurate
    •  Order non – medical supplies to include office, janitorial, and breakroom items as requested
    •  Ensure supplies are distributed to the correct storage and point of care locations within the surgery center
    •  Facilitate product returns through the vendor and ENVI software
    •  Review physician preference cards and procure medical supplies for surgery case carts as requested to support departmental clinical teams
    •  Assist in coordination and completion of periodic and cyclic inventory counts
    •  Assist with obtaining quotes for instrumentation and equipment purchases
    •  Work in coordination with the site Purchasing Specialist and Director with report development and data review
    •  Participate in special projects to include review of product lot numbers for recall notifications, updating PAR locations before and after inventory counts, updating barcode labels, and obtaining delivery ETA from vendors on open orders
    •  Assist with periodic housekeeping projects to facilitate safe and aseptic storage of medical supplies as scheduled
    •  Maintains accurate data entry within inventory and clinical system software
    • Ability to lift objects more than 25 pounds and less than 60. Able to push/pull objects more than 50 pounds on a cart
    •   
    • Work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  •  High School diploma/GED or equivalent
  •  1 to 2 years of experience in materials handling related position such as purchasing, warehouse, or hospital supply chain experience preferred

    • Actual starting pay will vary based on education, skills, and experience.
    • The pay range displayed reflects full-time compensation and will be prorated for employees working less than a full-time schedule.

    Working Conditions:

    • Frequently lift up to 50 pounds independently and occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance.
    • Requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, and move continuously throughout the shift.
    • Must be able to frequently perform physical activities such as pushing, pulling, and reaching.
    • Visual acuity to read electronic and paper documents.
    • Auditory ability to participate in phone or video calls clearly.
    • Manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment (e.g., computer, phone, printer).
