Position Overview:
Summer Camp Counselors directly engage with campers ages K-6th grade, and play a key leadership role in implementing daily activities, ensuring a safe, positive, and enriching environment for all participants. This position is responsible for facilitating a cohesive, fun, mission-aligned camp experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and engage groups of campers in daily activities
- Implement and lead curriculum activities across IGB’s four enrichment pillars (Financial Literacy, Communication Skills, Critical Thinking, and Emotional Wellness)
- Ensure camper safety, inclusivity and well-being at all times
- Foster positive behavior management through social interactions and conflict resolution
- Assist with camp activities, coverage and daily check-in/check-out procedures, as assigned
- Participate in and supervise campers on field trips and during special events
- Maintain regular communication with camp leadership and parents
- Contribute to program planning and evaluation to enhance summer camp program
- Model positive behaviors through relationship-building, adherence to camp rules, health standards, emergency procedures and supporting a strong team environment
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; some college experience preferred
- Experience working with children and adults in educational or recreational settings
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead group activities with enthusiasm and efficacy
- Creativity, patience, flexibility, and problem-solving abilities
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Level 2 background screening clearance required
Hours: Full-time, seasonal (June-August), including pre-camp training
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
