We are looking for enthusiastic, responsible, and customer-focused Store Associates who are passionate about creating a fun and welcoming shopping experience.
As a Store Associate, you will support daily store operations, including customer service, Gashapon machine operations, product restocking, inventory management, cashiering, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.
We value team members who are proactive, detail-oriented, and enjoy interacting with customers. Whether you have previous retail experience or are new to the industry, we welcome applicants who are interested in Japanese pop culture, anime, and collectibles!
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Customer Service
- Greet customers warmly and provide friendly, professional assistance.
- Explain how Gashapon machines work and guide customers through the purchasing process.
- Answer customer questions about Gashapon collections, products, and availability.
- Assist customers with machine-related issues to ensure a positive shopping experience.
2. Gashapon Machine Operations
- Regularly inspect Gashapon machines to ensure proper operation.
- Restock capsule toys based on inventory levels and store needs.
- Troubleshoot basic machine issues, such as jammed capsules or tokens.
- Keep machines and product display areas clean and organized.
- Assist with updating product displays and ensuring machine contents match the displayed collections.
3. Inventory Management
- Assist with receiving, unpacking, sorting, and organizing merchandise.
- Conduct regular inventory counts to maintain accurate stock records.
- Monitor inventory levels and report low-stock or out-of-stock items to management.
- Maintain an organized stockroom and storage area.
- Assist with stocking new arrivals and rotating product collections.
4. Daily Store Operations
- Perform opening and closing procedures according to company guidelines.
- Maintain store cleanliness, including floors, counters, machines, and common areas.
- Ensure merchandise displays and machine appearances meet company and brand standards.
- Follow established operational procedures and workplace safety guidelines.
- Complete additional daily tasks as assigned by store management.
5. Cashiering & Transactions
- Assist customers with purchasing Gashapon tokens and completing transactions.
- Accurately operate the point-of-sale (POS) system and process cash, credit card, and other accepted payment methods.
- Address basic transaction-related questions according to company policies.
- Ensure all transactions are handled accurately and professionally.
6. Shipping, Receiving & Merchandise Handling
- Assist with receiving shipments and verifying merchandise quantities.
- Sort, organize, and store products in designated areas.
- Safely lift and move merchandise and shipping boxes.
- Support restocking activities and maintain an organized storage environment.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Reliable, responsible, and punctual, with the ability to follow company policies and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively as part of a team.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and inventory counts.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Willingness to learn Gashapon machine operations, product information, and store procedures.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and safely lift and move merchandise boxes as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail, customer service, or cashiering.
- Interest in or familiarity with Japanese anime, Bandai products, Gashapon, or collectible toys.
- Experience with inventory management, merchandise restocking, or receiving shipments.
- Bilingual or multilingual communication skills, including English and Chinese, Japanese, or other languages.
- Availability to work weekends, holidays, and peak business hours.

Position: Store Associate
Schedule: Flexible scheduling based on store needs and availability.
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
