Security Systems Estimator
Primary Function:
We are seeking an experienced Security Systems Estimator who has comprehensive knowledge of access control and video surveillance systems including Brivo, Honeywell, Software House, Lenel, S2, Vigilant, Panasonic, and other major brands. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and costing effective security solutions tailored to meet the specific needs of our clients.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed site assessments to determine security requirements according to design or RFP.
- Review drawings, specifications, and all other construction documents to understand project requirements.
- Respond to bid specifications, write detailed and concise scope of work, predict duration of project.
- Develop and prepare cost estimates and proposals for security system installations and upgrades, including access control and video surveillance systems.
- Create and submit proposals, including cost breakdowns, technical specs, and supporting documentation.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, technologies, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to obtain optimal pricing and product specifications.
- Ensure all estimates and proposals are accurate, competitive, and comply with company standards.
- Assist in the preparation of bids, attend bid meetings, and provide technical support for sales presentations as required.
- Participate in handoff meetings with the operations team to explain job scope, potential areas of attention, and other aspects to ensure a successful transition of the project.
- Price change orders in coordination with operations department.
Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience as a Security Estimator or similar role with a focus on access control and video surveillance systems.
- Strong technical knowledge of security systems including, but not limited to, Software House, Lenel, S2, Vigilant, Panasonic
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
- Strong proficiency in estimation software and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Must pass a background check.
