What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Supervisor position at I DO WINDOWS?
Want to lead from the front, not the sidelines?
I Do Windows is a growing window and exterior cleaning company serving many cities in North Western Ohio and Fort Wayne, Indiana. We're looking for a working leader: someone who's on the ladder, behind the pressure washer, and in the middle of the big jobs, while also training and building the team around them.
This isn't a clipboard job. It's also more than a crew leader job. You'll do the work, lead the work, and build the people who do the work.
What you'll do
Lead in the field
- Work alongside our technicians on window cleaning, pressure washing, soft washing, and roof cleaning
- Lead large commercial projects, coordinate crews and equipment, and ensure our customers are thrilled with the finished results.
- Run morning meetings so crews start each day prepared and moving fast
- Ensure jobs are completed efficiently, profitably, and to our quality standards
- Think on your feet and find creative, practical solutions to the everyday challenges that come up in the field
- Be willing to operate aerial lifts and other job-site equipment after receiving proper training and certification
Build the team
- Train new technicians through their first 90 days and keep developing experienced ones
- Coach on quality, safety, and efficiency, and conduct regular job-site quality inspections
- Spot future leaders and help develop them
- Partner with our Operations Manager on employee performance, hiring, and promotions
Keep the operation running
- Own the condition of our vehicles, equipment, inventory, and shop
- Troubleshoot equipment problems and coordinate repairs and maintenance
- Keep finding ways to make our crews safer, faster, and better
Mechanically inclined? You'll go far here.
We run a lot of equipment: pressure washers, soft-wash systems, pumps, water purification systems, lifts, trailers, and a fleet of vans.
You don't need to be a mechanic, and you won't do every repair yourself. But if you like figuring out how things work, can diagnose a basic problem, and aren't afraid to turn a wrench, you'll have a big advantage in this role.
Room to grow
This is a career-growth role, not a final stop. As I Do Windows grows, we want this person to grow with us into higher-level operations leadership.
We're looking for someone with a high ceiling and the ambition to reach it. Someone who wants to take on more responsibility, develop their leadership abilities, and help build something bigger than themselves.
What we're looking for
- Experience leading people in a hands-on environment, ideally in the trades, construction, home services, landscaping, maintenance, or exterior cleaning industries.
- Someone who genuinely connects with people, meets them where they are, and understands how to bring out the best in different personalities and skill levels
- Someone who can hold people accountable and jump into the hard job right beside them
- An owner's mindset: when something isn't going well, you fix it instead of waiting for someone else to
- A resourceful problem-solver who can think quickly, adapt when plans change, and keep the team moving
- Comfortable on ladders, at heights, and working outdoors in Ohio weather; able to lift 100 lbs
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
