Food Service Worker

The Interstate 35 Community School Distrist is seeking candidates who have a passion for children to join our food service team for the 2025-2026 school year.  This candidate would be responisble for helping with the food preparations and serving the students breakfast and lunch.  

The duties for this position include:

Assist other food service employees during student serving times.

Includes heavy lifting, twisting, squatting, repetitive movements, standing for long period of time, and have ability to work in a hot humid environment and/or cold freezer temperatures for short amounts of time.

Must be able to keep students/staff information confidential and have a friendly, professional attitude along with clean personal hygiene.  Should be able to take directions from several employees and follow SOP's and recipes.  Need to be able to keep accurate records of food items and temperatures.  Must wear a hair net, apron, and perform proper hand washing techniques along with proper glove usage.

Must be able to work in a noisy fast paced environment, stand for long period of time on cement, lift objects over 40 pounds and be able to lift objects over one's head and squat to retrieve and lift heavy objects off the floor.  Have ability; to use a dipper in repetitive motions, handle hot pans and retrieve hot heavy items from ovens.  Be able to use a slicer and or a knife in a safe manner.  Should also be able to transport objects from one kitchen to another serving kitchen down a hallway using a cart.

Qualifications:

HS Diploma
Clean Criminal record 
No previous experience required
