About the Role
I-2-I Solutions, a federal contractor specializing in Legionella and water quality testing, is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Water Sampling Technician in Chinle, AZ. You'll collect monthly water samples at a local healthcare facility supporting a federal water safety program. This is a steady, part-time assignment - about one day a month - ideal for someone local who takes reliability and documentation seriously.
What You'll Do
- Collect approximately 25 water samples per month from assigned points across the hospital and outlying buildings (hot and cold lines)
- Complete Chain of Custody (COC) documentation fully and accurately for every visit
- Package and ship samples to the laboratory the same day, with proper handling and temperature protection
- Coordinate facility access with the site representative before each visit
- Photograph the completed COC and send it to the Project Coordinator after each event
- Communicate promptly on scheduling, supplies, and any access issues
What We're Looking For
- Lives in or near Chinle, AZ, within daily commuting distance of the facility (required)
- Available on weekday mornings - sampling starts early (around 9–10 AM) and requires a facility escort (required)
- Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle (sampling includes outlying buildings)
- REAL ID-compliant identification or another federally accepted credential (e.g., Enhanced Tribal Card) for healthcare facility access
- Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline
- Able to follow written sampling protocols precisely
- Physically able to reach sampling points, access mechanical areas/crawlspaces, and lift/carry sample kits (up to ~25 lbs)
- Dependable phone and email communication
Preferred
- Prior experience in water sampling, environmental field work, facilities, or laboratory sample collection
- Familiarity with Legionella or water quality sampling
- Located near a UPS/FedEx/USPS shipping point that supports next-day delivery
