Position Summary
Hyundai Transys Georgia Powertrain (HTGP) EHS Specialist is responsible for researching requirements, supporting policies / procedures and assisting in leading all of HTGP in superior EHS practices. This position is also responsible for promoting sustainable improvements.
Essential Functions
Corporate:
- Treats all HTGP team members with respect and professional courtesy.
- Adheres to the Hyundai Transys Powertrain policies and procedures and leads others in same.
- Confirms and adheres to all required HTGP Certification standards such as IATF 16949, ISO 45001 & ISO 14001.
- Always maintains pro-team member environment.
- Learns, demonstrates and upholds the HTGP Core Values.
- Supports the department budget efficiently as per approved annual budget
- Performs special assignments as required by management.
EHS:
- Adheres to all safety policies and procedures
- Complies with all safety policies and 5S clean philosophy to maintain a safe, clean working environment
- Consistently meets company safety goals
Technical:
- Supports effective policies, processes, procedures & programs to promote HTGP EHS requirements.
- Tracks compliance for the various Federal, State and Local environmental requirements.
- Tracks waste programs for compliance with all standards
- Supports the use of all EHS related resources within HTGP
- Administers safety communication program
- Administers safety walk arounds program
- Audits, analyzes and collates EHS performance data and proposes effective improvements
- Stays current on industry requirements & best practices and provide HTGP the same
- Investigates internal and external EHS concerns and supports investigation outcome to meet compliance & superior results
- Serve as a backup to the EHS A/M as necessary.
- Supports additionally assigned EHS programs as directed by the department managers.
Leadership:
- Leads all EHS requirements as an example for others to follow.
- Creates a leadership culture of awareness, acceptance & adherence to the EHS requirements.
- Lead collaborative and informative meetings to resolve or improve HTGP EHS performance
- Proactively meets HTGP KPI requirements in order to reduce exposure and control risk
- Actively supports all HTGP EHS programs / policies
- Clearly communicates HTGP’s EHS performance, goals & progress to all employees at HTGP as appropriate
- Provides required & necessary EHS training
- Supports and accounts for the EHS budget
- Maintain and train all HTGP team members in superior EHS practices
- Assists the EHS department as needed
Education
- High School/GED
- 4 Year Degree or comparable background of work related experience preferred
