Hyundai America Technical Center Inc. (HATCI) is looking for a Partnership Associate to join the Hyundai CRADLE Silicon Valley team in Mountain View, CA.
The Partnerships Associate in CRADLE’s Silicon Valley office will be responsible for the communication, oversight and development of our partnerships in the United States. You will also support, plan, execute and help run major corporate events as well as smaller partner events. As a team member, you will work in close collaboration with external partners as well as executives and their teams throughout Hyundai Motor Group (HMG), including the Strategy & Technology Division (S&TD) of Hyundai Motor Company (HMC), CRADLE’s parent entity. In this role you will work to help bring HMG closer to the startup and corporate innovation/venturing ecosystems and to build a robust portfolio of diverse partnerships that will help drive innovation and future businesses for HMG in the near and long-term.
The successful Partnerships Associate will have excellent communication and strategic skills. As part of a dedicated Open Innovation team, the Partnerships Associate will:
- Cultivate, build and leverage a network of North American in the corporate innovation/venturing ecosystem to help identify and partnering opportunities aligned with HMG stakeholder strategic priorities
- Manage CRADLE’s startup/founder accelerator and incubator partnerships, sponsorships and memberships in the United States.
- Identify on new opportunities through partnerships with startup/founder accelerators and incubators, event sponsorships, and membership and make recommendations.
- Conduct the budget planning and securing budget process to prepare partnership and event budgets.
- Encourage and manage CRADLE members’ engagements and participation in existing partnerships.
- Continuously evaluate the continued value of existing partnerships, sponsorships and memberships to make renewal and withdrawal recommendations.
- Actively represent Hyundai CRADLE in the greater North American innovation ecosystem
- Collaborate with PR to conduct proper marketing for sponsorships or memberships when necessary.

Initiate, manage and/or support CRADLE Silicon Valley’s internal and external events by working on detailed planning, budget preparation, content creation, internal and external marketing, vendor management, meeting logistics, and event operations. Generally, there are two types of events:
- Startup showcase meetings and innovation workshops for internal audiences.
- External facing events such as Mobility Innovators Forum, which is an annual conference that CRADLE hosts.
- Receive and consolidate leads/deal flow database from partners for evaluation by CRADLE team members
- Utilize social media to develop customer relationships through engagement and capturing leads.
- Research, plan, promote, and implement ecosystem marketing initiatives and/or involvement to increase brand awareness including the upkeep of the CRADLEinc.com website.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with all key internal and external stakeholders
- Able to travel up to 10% of the time (primarily domestic)
Required Experience:
- Bachelor's degree
- 2 years’ experience in managing partnerships, conducting events or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
