Sr. Exterior Trim Engineer
What You Will Do:
- Design, develop, and release exterior trim parts for Hyundai, KIA, and Genesis North American-made vehicles
- Develop innovative solutions to improve exterior trim from cost/mass, performance, and quality perspectives
- Individuals will have the opportunity to lead the development of responsible parts from styling concept to mass production
- Lead development of concept sections and surfaces
- Negotiate with supplier, styling, and surrounding part engineers to develop best design(s)
- Develop and release BOM for responsible parts
- Lead resolution of prototype and pilot-build issues
- Launch vehicle
- Mentor junior engineers in the development of Exterior Trim components
- Create and present technical reports to communicate project status and results
- Assess current design and recommend engineering improvements
- Travel up to 15% of the time, both domestically and internationally
What You Will Bring to the Role:
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering-related discipline
- 5 years of experience
- Experience in one or more areas of Exterior Trim Components is required, such as bumpers, fascias, wiper systems, mirrors, roof racks, spoilers, and/or exterior garnishes
- Knowledge of US regulations is required
- Knowledge of the design, manufacturing, and assembly of Exterior Trim components is required
- Experience utilizing computer-aided design tools
- Capability in CATIA V5 is ideal, but not required
- Valid Driver's License & a satisfactory driving record
