Job Title: PS1 Chrome Masker
Reports to: Value Stream Manager or Shift Supervisor
Location: Kent, WA
Type: Full Time, Non-Exempt (hourly)
Schedule: 1st Shift
Hytek production is open 24 hours per day. All shifts are as follows: 1st shift (Monday – Friday, 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.), 2nd shift (Monday – Friday, 2:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.), 3rd shift (Sunday – Friday, 10:00 p.m. - 6:30 a.m.)

Job Summary

Employees in this position will apply a variety of maskants to parts in preparation for Chrome plating application. Maskers may be required to join the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program*. Maskers perform operations in accordance with Military and OEM specifications.

* FAA DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program requires an initial pre-employment drug test including a screen for THC, subject to quarterly Drug & BAT testing.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with experienced Maskers, Operators, and Department Leads to complete work and prioritize tasks.
• Follow shop traveler, technique card, customer Purchase Orders, and instructions from experienced Maskers, Operators, and Department Leads.
• General review of paperwork to ensure all previous operations were completed. Notify supervisor and Quality Assurance if any errors.
• Prepare parts prior to operations including mechanical or chemical cleaning.
• Apply maskants to parts as called out in Purchase Orders and Tech Cards.
• Perform pre- and post-cleaning surface finish requirements.
• Follow Quality Assurance requirements.
• Follow safety precautions as trained.
• Assist in other areas within the Value Stream as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must have a regular and dependable attendance record.
• Ability to Read/Write Communicate in English with other employees, Customers, and auditors.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.
This position requires access to export-controlled information and all applicants must satisfy U.S. export control regulations with authorization to work in the U.S. Non-U.S. persons would require an export license in order to work in our facility.

Education/Previous Experience Requirements

• 1-2 years in a manufacturing environment a plus.

• Ability to see/hear/feel constantly – hearing protection required when working in the area

Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and fumes from metal finishing chemicals. Temperatures in the work environment can fluctuate with outside weather conditions. Due to the manufacturing environment, Personal Protection Equipment is required including safety glasses, goggles, aprons, rubber boots, gloves, and respirator (provided by Company).

Salary Range: Most masking roles start between $18.50 to $20.00 per hour. Production pay range is from $18.50 - $38.00 per hour.
