Solar Electrician Experience Required

Hytech Solar a Bay Shore, New York based solar installation company seeking an ambitious, organized, and detail-oriented candidate for a full-time position.This is an entry level position for an applicant who wants to work on the planning and execution side of the solar construction industry.

Job Description

Electrician will report to the Operations Manager and/or Master Electrician and provide diagnostic, troubleshooting, preventive and corrective maintenance services to residential and commercial PV systems, The Electrician will be asked to assist in the commissioning of the solar array and monitoring systems during project installations.

Responsibilities

Responding to corrective maintenance cases on residential PV systems

Working safely and in accordance with Hytech Solar and industry standard OSHA safety requirements

Extensive hands-on experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting PV systems

Comfortable in a fast paced field environment

Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal); particularly in a customer-facing environment

Qualifications

• Proficiency in installing all types of grid-tied inverters & able to work with various ground and roof mount racking systems
• Understanding of the NEC codes that relate to PV installations
• Must be very organized and be able to meet aggressive timelines
• Willing to do residential, commercial & service work
• Must be able to climb ladders and stairs, lift 100 pounds, and must be able to work on your feet for long periods of time
• Ability to work in extreme environments, e.g. hot sun, below freezing, crawl spaces, etc.
• Bending, crawling, in confined spaces, working in limited illumination areas, working in dusty conditions are required
• Must be able to work alone for periods of time and manage your own schedule
• Comfortable making decisions independently and handling emergency situations with a calm and directed manner
• Excellent Customer Service Skills Required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
• Regular, reliable and predictable attendance required
• Ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment
• Must have a valid driver’s license clean driving record (example no DUI in last 5 years)

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 45.0 per week
