Maintenance Technician - Rolling Stock

The hourly rate for this position at Scotts/Hawthorne will generally fall between $27.35 - 35.55 per hour and is paid weekly. Scotts/Hawthorne will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location. We are looking for a Rolling Stock Maintenance Technician who will join our Scotts Miracle Gro team in Vance, AL! What you'll do in this role: Owns local maintenance program on rolling stock including: main focus into forklifts, truck carried forklifts, loaders, pick up trucks and other types of rolling stock at the plant. Must be familiar with both gasoline and diesel powered engines. Performs repair and maintenance on the rolling stock associated with the plant. Types of repair include electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic repairs. Maintains records of jobs performed in order to develop a history of repairs so that preventative maintenance can be performed. Record keeping is done to meet or exceed DOT and regulatory requirements for over the road equipment. Must be computer literate to maintain records, experience using CMMS is a plus. Maintains and executes daily, weekly, monthly and yearly PMs on rolling stock equipment. Works with leadership to optimize uptime of rolling stock to meet operational demands. Manages relationships with Rolling Stock vendors to ensure third party maintenance needs are met and serviced in a timely manner. Builds strong relationships with rolling stock operators to enable a proactive approach to rolling stock repairs. What you'll need to be successful: High School Diploma or Equivalent Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills; able to accurately diagnose and repair equipment. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds on as needed basis. Must be able to stand, sit, walk, stoop and bend for extended periods of time. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment. Must be able to work with machine operators, mechanics and contractors and/or vendors. Must be able to work the required shift.
