The Product Owner is an IT professional responsible for setting, prioritizing and evaluating the work generated by the Software Scrum team in order to ensure impeccable features and functionality of the product.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
The Product Owner will work as a member of the Product Management team, providing critical process review, system design and configuration, and infrastructure validation as well as product knowledge expertise. Ideally, the candidate will have homebuilding industry knowledge and contacts, but most importantly must be able to quickly associate Hyphen’s Value Statements to the issue/pain potential clients may be experiencing. The day-to-day responsibilities of this position include:
- Take lead of Scrum teams as the Product Owner.
- Collaborate with Product Management to create and maintain a product backlog according to business value or ROI.
- Provide vision and direction to the Agile development team and stakeholders throughout the project and create requirements.
- Ensure that the team always has an adequate amount of prior prepared tasks to execute.
- Plan and prioritize product feature backlog and development for the product.
- Define product vision, road-map and growth opportunities.
- Assess value, develop cases and prioritize stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value as aligned with product strategy.
- Provide backlog management, iteration planning and elaboration of the use stories.
- Lead the planning product release plans and set expectation for delivery of new functionalities.
- Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals.
- Research and analyze the market, the users and the roadmap for the product.
- Follow our competitors and the industry trends.
- Keep abreast with Agile/Scrum best practices and new trends.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Previous working experience as a Product Owner for 5 year(s)
- BS in Computer Science, Engineering or similar relevant field
- In-depth knowledge of Agile process and principles
- Outstanding communication, presentation, written and leadership skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
- Creative thinker with a vision and attention to detail
- Experience with business applications and tools used to generate prototypes, mockups, and wireframes
- Construction industry experience helpful but not necessary
- In depth understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Experience with web or user interface design
- Quick learner, self-starter requiring minimal management
- Ability to work well in dynamic and team-oriented environments
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to a fast paced changing environment
- Communicate openly, honestly and constructively
- Treat all employees and customers with dignity, respect and courtesy
- Take responsibility to resolve concerns and problems (i.e., communication, trust and respect) within the team, department, and with customers
- Regular travel is required as necessary
