Start, LA Full Time
POSTED ON 7/8/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 8/31/2026
From day one, our mission has been to create an independent business with a unique culture – one that is controlled by the people who work for it. Finding the most talented and entrepreneurial people has always been key to our success. People come to Howden for lots of different reasons, but they stay for the same one: our culture. That’s what sets us apart, and why we nurture and retain the best talent in the market. Location: Dubai Start date: October 2026 Applications close: Friday 31st July Working structure: 4 days in office Cyber Team Cyber is one of the fastest-growing and most dynamic areas of the insurance market. Cyber risk is still evolving, shaped by technology, regulation, global events, and current political circumstances. As organisations become more reliant on data, digital systems, and connected operations, cyber is now a critical business issue for clients across every sector. As a Graduate Trainee in this space, you’ll work with clients operating in a fast-moving and constantly changing risk environment, helping them understand, manage, and transfer complex cyber and technology-related risks. You’ll gain exposure to both broking and claims, learning how insurance supports businesses before, during, and after incidents such as data breaches, ransomware attacks, business interruption, and wider digital disruption, many of which are increasingly visible in the public domain. If you’re interested in technology, enjoy understanding emerging risks, and want to build specialist expertise in a market at the centre of modern business, Cyber offers a rewarding place to start your career. Our Graduate Program You’ll join a 12-month development experience designed for recent graduates ready to build a meaningful career in insurance. From day one, you'll build an understanding of how different risks are assessed, placed, and managed, while developing the technical and commercial skills needed to advise clients effectively. Throughout the programme, you’ll develop your analytical, commercial, and consulting skills through a mix of on-the-job learning, structured support, and exposure to experienced colleagues across the business. You’ll be supported by a dedicated mentor and will have the opportunity to build relationships with peers, technical specialists, and senior leaders across Howden. Upon successful completion of the programme, you will transition into a permanent role, continuing your career at Howden with the skills, confidence, and market understanding to make an impact. What you’ll be doing Throughout the programme, you’ll: Gain hands-on experience supporting brokers with the placement and renewal of cyber insurance programmes for clients across a wide range of industries, helping organisations protect themselves against evolving digital, operational, and technology-related risks. Work alongside experienced professionals to review market submissions, compare quotes, analyse coverage options, and help develop clear recommendations for clients. Build an understanding of the risks, challenges, and opportunities facing organisations in areas such as data protection, cyber security, business interruption, ransomware, regulatory change, and incident response. Develop technical knowledge of cyber insurance products, market dynamics, broking practices, claims processes, and the role insurance plays in supporting clients before, during, and after a cyber event. Collaborate with broking, claims, placement, risk advisory, and support teams to deliver high-quality solutions and service to clients across the cyber insurance lifecycle. Learn how to use industry systems and internal processes while maintaining accurate client, policy, market, and claims information. Participate in training, networking, and development opportunities designed to build your commercial, technical, and professional skills. What are we looking for? No insurance experience is required; we’ll teach you everything you need to know. We’re looking for recent graduates who are excited to learn, curious about business, and interested in understanding how organisations manage risk and navigate complex challenges. You do not need a technical background or coding experience. We’re looking for curiosity, communication skills, and a willingness to learn how cyber risk affects businesses. You'll thrive in this role if you are: Curious about technology, digital risk, or how businesses respond to disruption A strong communicator who enjoys building relationships and collaborating with others. Motivated to take ownership of your work and contribute to team success. A problem-solver who approaches challenges with a positive, solutions-focused mindset. Resilient, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively. Eager to develop technical knowledge, commercial awareness, and confidence in a specialist area of insurance. Application Process Our application process is designed to help show your potential, not to test what you already know. Online application form Online gamified assessment: These games will help us understand your natural strengths and how you approach different situations. There are no right or wrong answers. You can complete this stage on your phone or laptop, whichever suits you best! Pre-recorded video interview (audio only option available): You will record your answers to a few questions using your phone or laptop, giving you the chance to tell us more about yourself in your own time in a relaxed setting. Interview Super Day: During the day, you’ll take part in a virtual case study and interviews with colleagues from across the business, giving us the chance to learn more about your experiences, strengths, and motivations, while also giving you the opportunity to ask questions and explore whether the programme is the right fit for you. What do we offer in return? A career that you define. Yes, we offer all the usual rewards and benefits - including great medical insurance, air tickets, a competitive salary and more - but we know you expect all that. What you might not expect is a job where everyone has a voice, where volunteering in the community is part of the day job, and where everyone is encouraged to play a part towards our sustainability goals. We want people who want to make a difference - not just in the workplace, but in the industry and in the wider community. Our Culture: People First We are proud to be at the global table, but we are most proud of our culture. It has been built on a single and constant set of principles over more than 25 years, and it has helped us become: An international group with independence and people at its heart A home for talent with a unique culture: the biggest small company in the world The focus on being a People First business has always been at the very heart of the Group. David Howden’s vision was to create an independent business with a unique culture; one that would survive and thrive as a business controlled by the people working for it. Diversity & Inclusion At Howden Group Holdings we consider our people our chief competitive advantage and as such we treat colleagues, candidates, clients, and business partners with equality, fairness and respect, regardless of their age, disability, race, religion or belief, gender, sexual orientation, marital status or family circumstances. Our largest shareholder group is us – the people who work in the business – supported by three long-term, minority growth-equity partners who share our vision to build a business to last, one that will never be sold. And we all know that by working together to drive the business forward, everyone will benefit from the extraordinary results we can achieve.
