Dipatcher ( Full time + On Call )

Job Purpose:

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Dispatcher to lead our transportation operations, ensuring seamless coordination of drivers, equipment, and routes to meet customer demands. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership skills, a strong understanding of logistics operations, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Job Duties:

· Develop and manage driver schedules, optimizing routes and equipment utilization to maximize efficiency and reduce costs

· Oversee equipment availability, assigning drivers, trucks, and extra drivers as needed to meet operational demands

· Consolidate orders into truckloads, ensuring efficient use of resources and reducing transportation costs

· Prepare daily work packages, including schedules, labor assignments, and equipment allocation

· Anticipate and mitigate potential disruptions, communicating changes and delays to drivers, customers, and stakeholders as necessary

· Manage driver communications, providing real-time support and emergency response as needed

· Maintain accurate records, including driver logs, equipment maintenance, and compliance documentation

· Monitor driver hours and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations

· Oversee vehicle maintenance and repair schedules, ensuring fleet reliability and minimizing downtime

· Perform other duties as assigned by management

Job Qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in logistics or related field preferred

· Minimum 2 years of experience in transportation or logistics, with a proven track record of success in a dispatcher or supervisory role

· Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and direct drivers and support staff

· Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously

· Basic understanding of geographic information systems (GIS) and mapping software

· Proficient in dispatch and recordkeeping systems, with the ability to quickly adapt to new technologies

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, making decisions quickly and effectively under pressure

· Thorough understanding of shipping regulations and industry best practices

Physical Requirements/ Work Environment:

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit and talk or hear, both in person and by telephone.

· Requires lifting and carrying of up to 50lb or more.

· Requires using hands to handle, control or lift objects with a strong grip

Pay: $70,000.00 per year
