Freight and Purchasing Coordinator

Job Description:

Hyper Microsystems Inc. is seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our organization to support our sales and customer service teams with scheduling freight shipments, assisting online sales and customer service, acting as back-up to reception area, and working on special projects as needed.

Major Duties

• Maintain continuous communication with carriers and customers to ensure a high-quality freight movement process.
• Ensure all parties are informed of route changes, delays, freight concerns or other issues as necessary.
• Obtain quotes, schedule pickup and delivery appointment times; use discretion and insight when considering all factors affecting timeframe, including weather, traffic, miles, service rules, etc.
• Accurately maintain and update information in the company’s operating systems
• Track back-end billing and invoicing to ensure that carrier charges are accurate.
• Generate purchase orders for materials and components.
• Provide price quotes to customers on shipping charges.
• Work on Ad Hoc projects related to purchasing, transportation, customer service and reconciliations.
• Process claims for damaged items and follow up with carrier.
• Perform general administrative tasks.

Skills And Requirements

• 1 year of transportation experience (Preferred)
• 2 years of sales or customer service experience (Preferred)
• Computer skills
• Mathematical and analytical skills required.
• Customer service experience
• Microsoft Excel skills
• Prior Experience with ERP systems, Everest (considered a plus)
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• 1-2 years experience effectively collaborating and interacting with senior management.

Work Hours: 8:30AM-5:00 PM

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
