Hyosung HICO is seeking to fill a Production Planner position. The ideal candidate will utilize the MES and APS systems to perform the production data collection, planning, and scheduling processes. - Perform all duties as assigned within the manufacturing control function that focus on data collection, manufacturing planning, scheduling, and production tracking.
- Create and manage information flow and production schedules to meet planning and delivery requirements for on-time product shipment. Initiate and facilitate meetings as needed to communicate with applicable teams.
- Data collection, analysis, and feedback when required through conducting of manufacturing control meetings and promoting accountability of manufacturing to daily work order commitments.
- Update the APS Schedule and support activities with Sales, Project Managers, Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Accounting, Purchasing and Production. Ensures production schedules are maintained to meet current planning objectives. Regularly communicate the current production schedule and insure any required corrective actions to meet customer commitments are identified and communicated.
- Develops and maintain standard hours of manufacturing for base units, options and special circumstances. Responsible for scheduling performance metrics.
- Works with Manufacturing Control Engineers, Project Managers, and Supply Chain to understand material shortages as they effect scheduling and the release of projects, develop manufacturing detail schedules, and ensures the manufacturing schedule is maintained and data is utilized.
- Works closely with Sales, Manufacturing, Purchasing and other departments to review and schedule new orders and answer order inquiry questions, including the elements of transformer design, material procurement, manufacturing, testing and site
- Sequence units by kV class, size, and complexity through order intake.
- Align Production Schedule with order intake and contract delivery dates.
- Progress unit WBS status by interfacing APS with SAP.
- Create and monitor planned orders in SAP.
- Support Mfg. Control Engineers with the creation of production orders.
- Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering to ensure that all departmental schedules are reflected in the APS Schedule.
- Performs capacity planning by developing and maintaining capacity planning tools. Maintains an up to date slot schedule and regularly review with Sales and Design
- Trains others to effectively maintain and use APS and in the use of SAP.
- Works closely with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality, Accounting, Design Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure the APS Schedule and data is maintained and
- Ensure all Manufacturing Control department activities are performed with the highest of standards and
- Further the goals and positive, professional image of Hyosung HICO by conducting business with other Hyosung HICO divisions, departments, suppliers, etc. in a timely and cooperative
- Know Hyosung HICO’s Quality, Safety and Environmental Policies. Be able to fully discuss the importance of these policies and how they impact work.
- Review the staffing levels with Manufacturing Managers and correlate with productivity improvements from Manufacturing Engineering to ensure resources are in place to meet production
- Continually evaluate scheduling tools and methods, recommending improvements to the DT Team and implementing approved process.
- Interface with Sales and Project Managers, Design Engineering, Purchasing and Manufacturing as required regarding schedule issues and needs
- Make recommendations and take actions to improve Company policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in operations, business or related discipline/field, plus a minimum of 1 year experience in operations, planning or materials within manufacturing environment or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience
- Developed skills in a variety of production planning and scheduling techniques within manufacturing (both ERP and non-ERP methodologies).
- Developed knowledge of MRP/ERP system functionality and component
- Advanced analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills with ability to prioritize and
- Prior experience working in a Lean Manufacturing environment preferred.
