Overview
Hynes Landscaping is seeking an experienced, hands on Irrigation Manager for Commercial Landscape Maintenance and Enhancement Divisions. This is a full time position and you will be on the jobs doing the work and training the other workers on the proper methods and best practices for irrigation repairs and installations. Eventually, we will add residential to our portfolio. Keeping our customers is our number one priority.
Responsibilities
- Manage/perform the installation, and maintenance of irrigation systems to maximize water efficiency and plant health.
- Troubleshoot electrical diagnostics issues within irrigation equipment and perform mechanical repairs using hand tools, power tools, or excavators as needed.
- Oversee soil science assessments to optimize watering schedules and soil conditions for diverse landscape needs.
- Conduct regular inspections of irrigation systems for leaks, blockages, or malfunctions; perform repairs or escalate issues promptly.
- Lead construction projects related to landscape enhancements or new installations, ensuring safety standards are met with appropriate equipment such as excavators.
- Train team members on proper use of irrigation systems, hand tools, power tools, and safety protocols to ensure efficient workflow.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in irrigation management or landscape maintenance with a strong understanding of irrigation systems and horticulture principles.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with electrical diagnostics skills for troubleshooting complex irrigation equipment.
- Familiarity with soil science concepts to support healthy plant growth and water management strategies.
- Construction experience involving excavation work or landscape installation projects is a necessity.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery such as excavators safely and effectively.
- Knowledge of lawn care techniques, landscaping best practices, and general horticulture principles.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
