Ice Centre PT Evening Facility Lead
General Summary:
Reports directly to Ice Centre Manager. Responsible for closing the building. Daily start times may vary between 4pm – 6pm, depending on the day of the week. This shift will require some Saturday and Sunday evenings as well as some shifts during the week on an as needed basis. Responsible for the general everyday operation and cleanliness of the building.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Assists Ice Centre Manager in all aspects of the management of the Ice Centre, including planning, programming and maintenance of the facility and ensuring quality customer service at all times.

Responsible for ensuring that all policies and procedures of the facility are conveyed to and followed by both staff and guests.

Responsible for the safety of assigned staff and guests including proper conveyance of safety and emergency procedures and proper follow-up on any safety incidents including appropriate Worker’s Comp reporting.

Serves as Manager on Duty as assigned, thus overseeing building operations, staff, and ensuring all areas of the Ice Centre are functioning as intended. Responds to day-to-day operational user issues while serving as Manager on Duty.

Recommends, coordinates, and participates in routine and annual maintenance and cleaning projects.

Assists the Maintenance Department as needed with projects around the facility.

Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
-
Ability to effectively use customer service skills.

Trained to operate the Zamboni preferred but not required.

Equipment directly used will be the Zamboni, ice edger, and floor machines.

Ability to keep a schedule and stay on time with ice resurfacing and compressor checks.

Ability to make sound decisions and use good judgment during stressful situations.
Working Environment/Physical Activities:

Ability to lift 50 pounds or more.

Ice Maintenance including but not limited ice resurfacing, edging and chipping the rinks, painting the sheets, and cleaning duties.

Must be available to work flexible hours as assigned by management. These hours may include early mornings, late evenings, weekends and holidays.
Education/Experience:
-
Previous Ice Rink experience is preferred but not required.

Zamboni training preferred but not required.

Basic mechanical skills preferred.
