KidsZone Attendant
General Purpose:
Under the supervision of the Recreation Coordinator, the Kidzone Attendant position is responsible for supervising the Kidzone Area at the Hyland Hills Fitness Center. This role is essential in ensuring that child watch runs in a safe and efficient manner that promotes an educational and enriching environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Supervise and participate in activities with children
- Maintain a child-friendly environment and a positive attitude towards children & their families
- Maintain the cleanliness of Kidzone area
- Reset Bathrooms
- Organize Toys & Enrichment Items
- Refill paper products, soaps, sanitizers, and other supplies as needed throughout the area
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and clean floors and carpets daily
- Remove trash and recycling from the Kidzone areas and dispose of properly
- Conduct regular walkthroughs to identify and report maintenance needs or safety hazards
- Follow all safety procedures for cleaning product use, chemical handling, and protective equipment
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the smooth operation of the Kidzone Area
Other Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage Check In & Out Process
- Fill Out Incident Logs
- Respond promptly to emergency clean-ups
- Assist during special events or facility maintenance projects when needed
- Attend all required staff trainings
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Strong understanding of cleaning best practices in a high-traffic environment
- Ability to Work with and Supervise Children of varying ages
- Ability to provide age-appropriate enrichment to varying ages of children
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently during independent work
- Strong communication and professionalism when interacting with members and staff
- Basic understanding of facility safety, sanitation, and infection control
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality
- Ability to identify and respond to facility issues or hazards quickly
Working Environment/Physical Abilities:
- Ability to work around noise, activity, and guests throughout the shift
- Must be able to stand, walk, and perform physical labor for extended periods
- Frequent bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, and reaching
- Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs regularly
- Exposure to various cleaning chemicals and use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Ability to work night/Evening/Weekend shifts as scheduled
- Must be 16 years or older
- Reliable transportation required
