What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Teacher position at Hygge Kinder House?
Role Overview
Assistant Teachers support the lead teacher in creating a nurturing, play-based environment. You’ll help set up activities, engage children in learning and discovery, and maintain a safe, welcoming space.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily routines, activities, and classroom preparation
- Build warm relationships with children and families
- Support children’s social-emotional development through positive guidance
- Help maintain a clean, organized classroom and meet health/safety standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; early childhood coursework a plus
- Experience with young children (professional or volunteer) preferred
- Passionate about outside play and willingness to be outdoors with children for 2-3 hours/day
- Enthusiasm, reliability, and a collaborative spirit
- Idaho Childcare License (or willing to obtain)
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willing to obtain)
