What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Runner/Busser position at Hyeholde Restaurant?
Position Summary: Food Runners are responsible for expediting, assembling, delivering and assisting in the serving of food orders to our guests. Primary duties also include setting up bread and butter servings, garnishes, plate ware, flatware and service items required for dinner service. Food Runners may respond to guest requests and provide assistance to dining room and kitchen team members. In addition, Food Runners maintain their station in a clean and orderly manner and partner with Servers and other team members to ensure that each and every guest receives exceptional service and hospitality.
Responsibilities:
- Know your work schedule for the week, arrive at work on time, and meet standards for uniform, hygiene and professional appearance.
- Set up station and perform opening duties in accordance with procedure.
- Follow food service standards and procedures for delivering tray to the dining room. Place the tray on the tray jack stand.
- Using knowledge of table numbers, assist or serve food items to guests as needed.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of menu offerings to answer guest questions.
- Restock items and perform other side duties as needed throughout the shift.
- Assist kitchen team with cleaning and organizing the kitchen and perform other closing duties.
- Perform additional duties as directed by Managers.
- Communicate information regarding guest requests or complaints and ideas for improvement to Managers.
- May be scheduled to work meetings, banquets, and special events.
- Maintain a good team-work environment by willingly assisting other team members with their station duties and sidework when there is a need and/or when available.
Measurements/Expected Results:
- Provide exceptional guest service as measured by guest or server feedback and Manager observation.
- Food orders are accurate and complete.
- Food is delivered safely to the dining room without spillage or breakage.
- Maintains a clean and professional appearance.
- Assists in keeping the restaurant clean and safe for guest.
- Meet state age requirement for the position.
- Must be able to read and communicate in English clearly and effectively.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
- Able to stand for 5 or more hours at a time.
- Able to lift and carry loaded trays and move tables and chairs.
- Physical ability to grasp, stoop, reach, balance, move tables, and perform similar repetitive job-related movements.
- Ability to push pull or lift up to 20 lbs
