Position Overview:Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join their finance team. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing complex account reconciliations, and supporting the monthly close process. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and a thorough understanding of accounting principles and procedures. Key Responsibilities:Monthly Close ActivitiesPrepare and post monthly journal entries to ensure accurate recording of financial transactionsPerform comprehensive balance sheet account analysis to identify and resolve discrepanciesCalculate and record accrual and deferral entries to properly match revenues and expenses to appropriate periodsComplete monthly bank reconciliations for all company accounts, investigating and resolving any outstanding itemsInventory ManagementConduct monthly inventory reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting of inventory balancesAnalyze inventory variances and work with operations team to resolve discrepanciesSupport physical inventory counts and cycle count proceduresFinancial Analysis & ReportingAnalyze account fluctuations and prepare detailed explanations for management reviewAssist in preparation of monthly financial statements and supporting schedulesSupport internal and external audit processes by providing requested documentation and explanationsRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field3-5 years of progressive accounting experienceStrong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principlesProficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skillsCPA certification preferredExcellent analytical and problem-solving abilitiesStrong attention to detail and accuracyAbility to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environmentPreferred QualificationsExperience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.)Previous experience in month-end close processesKnowledge of inventory accounting and cost accounting principlesExperience with bank reconciliation software and automated matching toolsWhat We Offer:Competitive salary commensurate with experienceComprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance401(k) plan with company matchingProfessional development opportunitiesCollaborative and supportive work environment
