CNC Milling/Machining Technician

HydroSolutions of Duluth is looking for a skilled and motivated Associate to be part of our team. The right individual will know how to utilize CNC Milling, Technologies to produce moderately complex machined components. This ideal team member will have a desire and ability to master all facets of programming, tooling, and machining.

The position requires set-up and operation of HAAS CNC Milling machines, CNC Router table manual lathes, drill, mill and various other equipment. Willingness and ability to train learn and execute as part of a dynamic team is a fundamental requirement. Inspection of own parts, computer skills, ability to read prints and exercise sound judgment is a must.

Responsibilities:

• Under limited supervision, operate a variety of CNC machines
• Set-up and operate secondary equipment and perform any other functions within the department that may be necessary
• Inspect completed material utilizing hand inspection equipment, i.e. vernier calipers, height gauge, micrometer and drop dial indicators as well as, CMM, Smart Scope, and other metrology devices.
• Interact in a Manufacturing environment with a variety of personnel and shift change over daily.
• Supervising assistants and helpers assigned to Milling area.

BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS:

• Vocational trades school diploma or equivalent required;
• Must have sufficient education to read complex engineering drawings, perform shop math, and keep accurate records.
• Programing in CAM systems
• Personal computer knowledge required
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing preferred
• Position requires a commitment to accelerated development using a variety of training methods, both internal and external to Hydrosolutions of Duluth, Inc

All training will be developed and implemented based upon the candidate’s experience level.

MENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Mental/Cognitive:

Must be able to stay on task, seeing project through to end. Ability to work at a steady pace with high degree of accuracy and planning for multiply jobs in process at once. Ability to take on and finish a given task. Ability to work well with others.

Physical:

Must have average stamina and be able to handle up to 75lbs during standard lifting tasks

Must have good eyesight.
