Qualifications:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-13 in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting 2 of 3 of the following:
- Develop, implement, or interpret comprehensive security policies, plans, and procedures that ensured compliance with applicable regulations or industry standards.
- Manage security program elements involving the protection of sensitive information, critical infrastructure, or high-value assets.
- Provide guidance and consultation on security matters, including threat analysis, incident response, or proactive security enhancements, to diverse stakeholders.
"Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

As a Security Specialist, you will:
- Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and programs to protect federal assets and information.
- Conduct comprehensive security assessments and investigations, identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on physical, personnel, and information security matters.
- Manage and oversee security operations, including access control, surveillance, and emergency response planning.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal security regulations and guidelines.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance overall security posture and address emerging threats.
