A day in this role From your first day, you’ll work hands-on with large components, methodically verifying critical dimensions and documenting every finding. You’ll move from the receiving area—validating OD/ID measurements on incoming pump parts—to the shop floor, where you’ll calibrate tools, collaborate with machinists, and finalize detailed inspection reports for in-process and finished work. What you will do Perform dimensional inspections on pump and rotating equipment components using outside/inside micrometers, gauges, and calipers.Calibrate machine shop measuring tools and accurately record results in inspection documentation.Measure OD and ID on incoming parts; identify defects, wear, and nonconformances.Develop comprehensive reports for incoming, in-process, and final inspections.Compile and maintain clear, organized inspection records and traceability.Travel to customer sites when needed to conduct incoming inspections.Partner closely with shop teams while working safely around large moving and rotating equipment. What you bring At least 5 years of continuous inspection experience or prior tenure as a QC Inspector.Expertise with large precision instruments (outside/inside micrometers, gauges, calipers).Proficiency calibrating measuring tools and generating accurate inspection reports.Solid computer skills, including the Microsoft Office suite.Working knowledge of formal safety systems (OSHA, ISO, etc.).Background in an industrial fabrication/machine shop environment with rotating equipment.Strong multitasking capability, exceptional organization, and clear written/verbal communication.Ability to collaborate effectively with shop personnel at all levels.High School Diploma or equivalent.Experience with rotating equipment, pumps, or heavy machining is strongly preferred.
