Hydro Shield Restoration Inc. is seeking an experienced Crew Chief to lead residential and commercial water damage restoration projects throughout the greater Chicagoland area.

Position Overview
This position is primarily a Crew Chief role with limited Project Manager backup responsibilities when Project Managers are unavailable or managing active projects.
Crew Chiefs are responsible for leading restoration projects, supervising crews, maintaining documentation, ensuring equipment readiness, and delivering an exceptional customer experience from emergency response through project completion.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead residential and commercial water damage restoration projects from emergency response through completion.
- Supervise, train, and mentor restoration technicians and laborers.
- Perform water extraction, demolition, structural drying, cleaning, and antimicrobial treatments in accordance with company and industry standards.
- Install, monitor, adjust, and remove commercial drying equipment.
- Maintain professional communication with homeowners, customers, property managers, and Project Managers throughout each project.
- Complete moisture mapping, daily documentation, photographs, equipment logs, and digital job reports using company software.
- Operate company vehicles safely while maintaining cleanliness, organization, and operational readiness.
- Maintain accountability for company vehicles, trailers, equipment, tools, and materials.
- Coordinate daily jobsite operations while maintaining productivity, quality, and safety.
- Assist with emergency response and customer onboarding when Project Managers are unavailable or managing active projects.
- Participate in the rotating emergency on-call schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Respond promptly to emergency dispatches and initial water loss call-outs when assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum one year of verifiable leadership experience in water damage restoration, mitigation, construction, demolition, remodeling, disaster restoration, or another closely related field.
- Experience supervising crews and coordinating daily field operations.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds or more and perform physically demanding work.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, and mobile applications for documentation and job management.
- IICRC WRT Certification preferred but not required. Company-sponsored training and certification opportunities are available.
- Strong work ethic with attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
