What Your Day Looks Like
You’ll Set Up, Modify, And Operate Industrial Manual Machines To Restore Large Pump Components To Exacting Specifications. On Any Given Day, You May
- Run Vertical Turret Lathes (VTL), manual lathes, and horizontal boring mills to machine pump cases, impellers, wear rings, bearing housings, shafts, and covers.
- Hold tight tolerances of /− 0.001" on critical features.
- Blueprint, layout, and plan setups using deep knowledge of metal properties and machining procedures.
- Calculate angles, radii, bolt circles, and other dimensions to complete precision work.
- Plane and bore horizontal pump casings (experience in this area is a plus).
- Safely operate overhead cranes for handling large components.
- 3 years of manual machining experience required; 5 years preferred.
- Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints and hold close tolerances.
- Journeyman status (or Machinist’s Mate in the military) or equivalent practical experience preferred.
- Background in pumps or rotating equipment is strongly considered.
- Excellent compensation with differential pay and overtime pay.

- Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
- Schedule: 8-hour shift, Monday–Friday, overtime available, shift premium, weekend availability when necessary
