Role Description
The Staff Accountant is a key member of the finance/accounting team. In addition to general ledger and AR/AP reconciliations, this position will work closely with the Director of Finance to close month end reports, prepare cash flow analyses, and manage tax accounting and reporting. Our business consists of service, consumable goods, and capital equipment sales, and is expanding rapidly in multiple states and regulatory environments. Experience managing sales tax and use tax in diverse environments is desirable. This position has room for considerable growth over the 24-36 month time frame.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Will provide support for all Month End accounting functions.
- Provide support for budgeting and financial reporting.
- Analyze A/R and A/P functions for accuracy.
- Develop and implement accounting control procedures.
- Responsible for monthly General Ledger account reconciliations and “true ups”
- Responsible for completing the Bank Reconciliation using the accounting software.
- Assist Director of Finance with Fixed Asset accounting and management for both GAAP and tax reporting
- Assist Director of Finance with developing and preparing Cash Flow Analysis.
- Responsible for working with Director of Finance on year-end review with CPA.
- Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge.
- Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives. The intent of this position description is to guide the activities of the Staff Accountant. Educational Requirements
Minimum of a college degree is required. Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting is highly preferred.
Experience Requirements
Technical Experience: 3 or more years’ experience in an accounting function role. Sales & use tax experience desired.
