What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental Compliance Lead position at Hydrex Environmental, LLC?
Hydrex Environmental is currently seeking an Environmental Compliance Lead (ECL) to work closely with an interdisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, technicians, clients, and regulatory agencies providing environmental hydrogeological expertise, consulting support, and project management for industrial and regulatory projects.
Your Role:
The ECL will support environmental projects through technical analysis, field investigation, regulatory coordination, and project management of our industrial sector clientele. This role will collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver effective solutions for industrial and regulatory clients. The position may include field assignments and limited travel as needed to support project objectives. This position is considered in-person and full-time; remote options are not available.
Primary Duties:
- Performs and/or directs other staff in the development, scheduling, coordination and oversight of industrial sector compliance efforts. Industrial Sector efforts include:
- Stormwater compliance, sampling, reporting, and permit development,
- Environmental audits, compliance audits, waste handling audits, SPCC
- TRI, PPP, and SARA Tier 2 reporting, Phase I/II support
- Industrial Wastewater permitting, sampling, and remedy strategies, and
- TRRP/VCP/LPST compliance monitoring and evaluations.
- Provides management of projects including budget management, work progression, client updates, change-order preparation, and regulatory timeframe compliance,
- Present interpretation, conclusion, and recommendations within regulatory framework,
- Reinforce, promote, and help implement safe work practices,
- As necessary, support management in meetings with clients and regulators, and
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Degree in natural science (e.g. environmental, geology), engineering, or other related field
• Seven years demonstrated experience in environmental compliance in industrial settings
• Strong project management skills, ability to present clear and concise information
• Ability to work well with a team in a dynamic environment
• Experience effectively managing multiple projects and coordinating with internal staff
• Experience identifying and mitigating environmental compliance risk,
• Experience reviewing engineering plans and contract specifications
• Ability to manage time to complete tasks by compliance deadlines.
• Strong oral/written skills with confidence to speak and train in workplace.
• Ideal candidate will hold one or more of the following certifications: Professional Engineer (P.E.), Professional Geoscientist (P.G.), Certified Environmental Professional (CEP), Registered Environmental Manager (REM), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), or Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC).
