Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for driving and a commitment to delivering freight safely and efficiently. This role involves operating various types of trucks, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, and tankers, while adhering to all safety regulations and company policies. Overnight travel is required; its frequency varies with the delivery schedule.
Duties
- Operate trucks with manual transmission, ensuring smooth handling and control during transport.
- Transport goods using refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and other specialized vehicles.
- Load and unload freight securely, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
- Navigate routes effectively while adhering to delivery schedules.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of hours driven and mileage.
- Communicate with dispatch regarding any issues or delays encountered on the road.
- Follow all traffic laws and company policies while driving.
Skills
- Proficient in truck driving with experience in commercial driving environments.
- Familiarity with operating various truck types such as dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and refrigerated trailers.
- Experience with route driving and delivery driver responsibilities.
- Ability to operate forklifts for loading and unloading tasks as needed.
- Strong understanding of freight handling procedures and safety regulations.
