Overview
We are seeking a skilled Hydraulic Technician to join our team, responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting hydraulic systems across various heavy equipment and machinery. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, with experience working on industrial equipment, farm machinery, and automotive systems. This role offers an opportunity to work with a diverse range of machinery, including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
Duties
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery
- Read and interpret schematics and technical manuals to identify issues and implement solutions
- Perform routine maintenance including fluid changes, filter replacements, and system inspections
- Fabricate parts or components as needed for repairs or custom applications
- Conduct electrical diagnostics related to hydraulic controls and sensors
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques to complete repairs
- Test repaired equipment to ensure proper operation and safety compliance
- Maintain detailed service records of all repairs and maintenance activities
- Assist in the assembly and installation of hydraulic components during equipment upgrades or new setups
Skills
- Proven dealership or heavy equipment repair experience with a focus on hydraulics
- Strong mechanical knowledge of transmissions, suspension systems, air brakes, alignment, HVAC systems, diesel engines, shocks & struts, brake repair, and vehicle maintenance
- Ability to read and understand schematics for electrical and hydraulic systems
- Experience with fabrication techniques including welding and soldering
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, lifting equipment such as forklifts or crane operation preferred
- Knowledge of automotive diagnostics combined with heavy equipment operation skills
- Familiarity with farm machinery, industrial equipment, tractor-trailers, and automotive repair processes
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in troubleshooting complex hydraulic issues
- Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs
This position requires a dedicated professional capable of handling heavy lifting tasks safely while maintaining high standards of quality. Candidates should have relevant mechanic or service technician experience along with electrical expertise to excel in this role. This is a 1099 position. Candidate will be expected to travel as far as Pensacola, Fl., or wherever else is needed within a 200 mile radius of Mobile, AL. Candidate having their own tools is a plus, but not required.
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 – 60.0 per week
