Location: Hyde Park Day School - Chicago
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Reports To: Principal

Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Substitute Teacher to join our team. In this role, you will carry out lesson plans in the absence of the regular classroom teacher and ensure a positive, productive learning environment aligned with the school's philosophy, goals, and objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver instruction according to prepared lesson plans.
- Maintain classroom order and create an environment conducive to effective learning.
- Take necessary precautions to protect students, materials, equipment, and facilities.
- Provide timely feedback to the classroom teacher.
- Uphold and enforce school rules, administrative regulations, and board policies.
- Collaborate with school personnel and maintain positive relationships with students and staff.
- Assist with clerical office tasks as needed.
- Report to the principal or designee at the start and end of each school day.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree required.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years working in a school setting.
- Experience with students with learning disabilities preferred.
