School Social Worker (Full‑Time)

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
Hyde Park Day School (HPDS) is the premier school in the Chicago metropolitan area dedicated to educating bright students with learning disabilities. We are seeking a full‑time School Social Worker at our Chicago campus to play a vital role in supporting student success and well‑being.
As a member of our multidisciplinary clinical team, the School Social Worker supports students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development through direct services, consultation, and collaboration with families, faculty, and external providers.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and enhance students' educational programs and overall adjustment to the school environment
- Provide direct and indirect social‑emotional services to students, families, and staff
- Serve as a liaison between the school, families, and community agencies
- Provide consultation and direct support to students and staff during crisis situations
- Develop and implement evidence‑based intervention and prevention programs
- Participate actively in integrated service teams to support student success
- Collaborate closely with instructional staff and fellow clinicians
- Support the development of students' social communication, emotional regulation, and conflict‑resolution skills
- Where applicable, coordinate school‑based services with outside clinicians and providers
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited program
- Illinois Type 73 School Service Personnel Certificate
- Current LSW or LCSW license in the State of Illinois
- Minimum of one year of experience working with children with diagnosed learning disabilities

Hyde Park Day School is a full‑day, specialized educational program serving students ages 6-15 with moderate to severe learning disabilities who demonstrate average to above‑average intelligence. We specifically serve bright students with learning disabilities and carefully screen for behavioral and emotional needs to ensure we are the right environment for each child.
HPDS operates multiple campuses throughout the Chicago area, including Hyde Park/Woodlawn, Northfield, and Lemont.
