We are seeking a Buyer for our Schaumburg, IL facility. The Buyer will place purchase orders for new and existing production materials. May be assigned to purchase non-production items. They will identify and develop qualified suppliers which meet company standards.  Salary is commiserated with experience, and compensation for this position is between $65,000-75,000. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

•  Professionally place purchase orders to meet program and productions schedules, while maintaining good supplier relationships.
•  Control the cost of purchase materials within budget and generate cost reduction action plans.
•  Attain a level of product/commodity knowledge and develop a level of awareness of supplier operations as they pertain to the Company.
•  Professionally resolve problems (both internally and externally), in a fair and ethical manner.
•  Must have good interpersonal skills to interact effectively with all levels of the organization as well as outside contacts.
•  Travel will be required to various supplier locations.
•  Maintain and support company objectives for cost out, inventory turns, and supplier on-time delivery.
•  Provide vendor performance data for Quarterly Scorecard.

• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
• Knowledge of accounting software, internet software, inventory software, spreadsheet software and word processing software.
• Skills in Microsoft Office software including: Word, Excel, and Power Point.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.
• Analytical: Collects and researched data; Uses intuition and experience to complement data.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Business Acumen: Understands business implications of decisions; Displays orientation to profitability.

• Tactical buying experience 

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree (B.A) 
•  1 to 2 year related experience 

Safety and Personal Protective Equipment

• Must adhere to all safety rules in force for the location you are in while performing your job responsibilities. This includes at a customer or supplier location.
• Must meet requirements for PPE in specific manufacturing areas when you are in those areas including safety shoes and safety glasses.
