Hycroft Mining Holding Corporation is a US-based gold and silver mining company, which operates its wholly owned Hycroft open pit, gold, and silver mine located an hour southwest of Winnemucca, Nevada.
Job Description
The purpose of this role is to lead all exploration activities at the Hycroft project, efficiently managing all near-existing deposits and regional exploration team activities.
Responsibilities
- Assess the potential, define targets, propose, and manage programs
- Contribute to and oversee target generation, assessment, and global project pipeline management
- Design, assess, plan, and prioritize exploration targets at various stages to directly impact programs in real-time through active and proactive participation in exploration programs
- Contribute to drill planning for resource discovery, growth, and drill program optimization
- Sequencing exploration activities including geochemical, geophysical, geological surveys, and drilling activities
- Ensure optimal use of all data to advance quality geological interpretations and support exploration decision-making
- Ensure QAQC programs and procedures are implemented on all exploration programs and surveys; QAQC data is reviewed, and any issues are identified and corrected
- Assess, continue developing, and reinforcing the exploration team through mentorship and training opportunities
- Perform and assist with geological and structural modeling as needed
Qualifications
- 10 years of exploration experience for Carlin-type, epithermal gold-silver, and other types of deposits with at least 5 years in manager roles within the mining industry
- Near-Mine and Regional Exploration experience
- Experience developing both surface and UG projects
- Good knowledge of QAQC principles including implementation and data assessment.
- Proficiency in using exploration and mining software
- GIS and 3D modeling skills
- Strong communication, leadership, organization, and team-building skills
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines
- University degree in Geosciences with field camp required
