Coffee Shop Manager - Meeting Grounds

Position Overview: The Meeting Grounds Manager is responsible for the overall operations, leadership, and performance of The Meeting Grounds. This role requires hands-on leadership, team development, financial oversight, and a strong customer focus. The GM sets the tone for the store and ensures smooth daily operations aligned with Auro’s guiding principles and hospitality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead by example, creating a positive and professional work environment.
• Oversee day-to-day store operations, including opening/closing procedures and shift coverage.
• Set clear goals for the team and support execution through coaching, delegation, and feedback.
• Maintain high standards for customer service, cleanliness, food safety, and operational excellence.
• Hire, train, mentor, and evaluate team members.
• Conduct regular performance check-ins and support employee development.
• Create a culture of accountability, recognition, and growth.
• Maintain compliance with labor laws and company policies.
• Foster a welcoming and comfortable experience for guests.
• Address guest concerns quickly and professionally.
• Manage labor and inventory costs to achieve profitability goals.
• Review and act on financial reports, P&L statements, and meet with Director of F&B to review  monthly statements.
• Monitor local trends to adapt offerings and optimize performance.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and cash handling protocols.

Qualifications:

• Must be available to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
• 2–3 years of experience in retail or food & beverage management.
• Experience managing teams, hiring, and handling performance reviews.
• Proficiency with POS systems, scheduling software, and operational reporting tools.
• ServeSafe Manager certification preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to lift 40 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
