Security Guard (Part-Time)

The Security Guard patrols the hotel and grounds and responds to security and emergency situations. Promptly handles emergencies, accidents, injuries, missing articles, damage, engineering items and safety hazards.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

• Part-time weekends for evening and overnight shifts - Friday/Saturday/Sunday.
• 1 or more years of related experience or schooling preferred.
• New York State security guard license required.
• CPR/First Aid/AED certification required (or willing to obtain certification).
• Clean and valid New York State Driver License preferred.
• A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment.
• Refined verbal communication skills.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Maintain the highest level of safety and security for guests and employees.
• Patrol hotel areas including surrounding grounds and parking lots via property walks and video surveillance. Address any unusual circumstances, safety violations or accidents and injuries.
• Maintain constant emergency readiness. Respond immediately to all emergency alarms and calls for assistance covering a variety of concerns. Determine course of action and notify appropriate management and/or authorities as needed.
• Conduct investigations of security incidents and complete required forms.
• Assist hotel operations with guest requests. Approach guest encounters in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
• Transport guests in hotel shuttle van as needed.
• Report to work when scheduled and in proper uniform.
• Maintain a consistent professional and positive attitude when communicating with guests, vendors and associates.
• Practice safe work habits and comply with sanitary, safety, security and emergency procedures.
• Any other tasks / duties as requested by management.
