Summary
- The responsibilities for this position include overseeing the purchasing function for the hotel, as well as ensure meeting specified guidelines and policies. Maintaining hotel budget, correct expense classification and streamlining costs by monitoring, reviewing and analyzing quotes and invoices from suppliers. Handling any issues that arise, such as defective goods or incorrect charges, evaluate suppliers, compare alternatives and choose the best option for the hotel.
- In this role, you will establish operating procedures to ensure that the rooms department, as well and food & beverage department have adequate supplies to perform their duties in an efficient manner. Assist in the day-to-day operation of the hotel front office, housekeeping or event services (banquets & Catering) as it relates to product and inventories needed to conduct business
- You should be able to work closely with managers and employees throughout the hotel and maintain compliance with all related local and corporate policies and procedures pertaining to the purchasing function
- Assist, as needed in the day to day operation of the kitchen and stewarding departments, as expediting B&C functions, assist to run food and Back of the House support as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate required
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, customer service, leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Computer experience, preferably procurement & inventory software
- Ability to use P.O.S. system.
- Must be able to communicate professionally in English, both written and verbal.
- Detail oriented and able to multi-task effectively in order to accomplish various tasks throughout the day while keeping the guest experience in mind at all times.
