A Steward or Dishwasher is primarily responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of all hotel china, silverware, and cookware. This person must have good communication skills and have the ability to lift, pull and push a moderate amount of weight. This is a fast-paced position that will involve constant customer interaction.

Essential Responsibilities
- Operate pot-washing machine and dish-washing machine.
- Maintain a hygienic working environment in accordance with hygiene regulations and company standards.
- Carry out general cleaning as directed and ensure the correct PPE is in place.
- Sweeping, mopping, washing, wiping down, and emptying trash receptacles.
- Ensuring all kitchen and back of the house areas are kept clean, all equipment is stored in its’ proper location and cleaned in accordance with the cleaning schedule.
- Observe Health, Hygiene & Safety guidelines when handling hazardous substances.
- Report any maintenance and/or hazard issues to the supervisor on duty.
- Responsible for maintaining the kitchen with china, glasses and silverware.
- Responsible for helping the kitchen plate up and dish our menu orders when needed.

Qualifications
Education:
High school diploma or GED equivalency preferred but not required.
Experience:
Good working knowledge of accepted standards of sanitation.
- stewarding experience preferred.
- Must have availability to flexible schedule
Interaction/Skill Set:
- Must be able to speak and understand English to communicate with colleagues and supervisors.
- Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods.
Work Environment
Make continuous or repetitive arm-hand movements
Bend or stoop repeatedly over time, such as removing items from stove, oven, refrigerator or freezer.
Clean work area and equipment using broom, mop, sponge, cleaning solution and other applicable materials.
Move objects between 20-50lbs short distances.
Learn job-related material primarily through oral instruction and observation which takes place as on-the-job training.
Ability to work in a team environment is essential.
Ability to stand, walk, and continuously perform the essential job functions for an extended period of time.
