Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Events team at Hyatt Regency Austin!

The Event Experience Manager is responsible for all pre-arrival and on-site event execution of the hotel’s group and events department.

Reporting directly to the Director of Events, this role will focus on servicing group and event bookings, acting as the liaison between Meeting Planners and the hotel staff. Responsibilities include preparing pre-arrival communication and meetings, finalizing all food, beverage and A/V needs, managing room block changes, and the execution of all event details.

These responsibilities also require interfacing with all hotel departments to ensure events are successful and exceed client expectations. Event Experience Manager will also host hotel tours, maintain strong customer relationships, participate/lead event meetings and other staff meetings, and work as a team member with the sales, events and banquet staff. This position requires flexible and open availability – including some nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing and delivering brand-appropriate event experiences including activations, décor, theming, food and beverage concepts
  • Successful execution of all group, banquet/event bookings including planning, set-up, delivery, and departure
  • Ensuring all group, banquet/event bookings are correctly and accurately detailed according to client needs
  • Effectively coordinating & communicating with all hotel departments to ensure successful execution of all group and event bookings
  • Ensure event spaces are maintained according to hotel operating standards
  • Responsible for achieving guest satisfactions scores for group travel, meetings and events

Qualifications

  • A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment.
  • Refined verbal and written communication skills
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of hotel event sales/event planning or comparable experience preferred
  • Must be proficient in general computer knowledge. Hyatt’s system knowledge and proficiency is preferred
  • Candidates should be extremely detail oriented, a strong communicator, organized and be able to adapt and to handle a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills
